We’d love to have you visit us in Dumbleyung!
You can’t miss the full-sized Bluebird replica as you drive through town. It’s located opposite the Dumbleyung Community Resource Centre (the old Post Office) and is housed in a large open-air shelter with wheelchair accessibility.
The replica can be visited at any time of day or night and there is ample parking nearby, as well as landscaped gardens. Interpretive panels tell the story of the world record and the town’s involvement. At night, blue lights illuminate the shelter and replica – and don’t forget to look up to see the Southern Cross in the ceiling above you!
The Dumbleyung Community Resource Centre is home to the Bluebird Interpretive Centre where you’ll find plenty more information on Donald Campbell and his records. The CRC is open in the following hours, and entry to the display is free:
Monday 9.30am to 4.30pm
Tuesday – Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm
CLOSED Saturday/Sunday and Public Holidays
Shire of Dumbleyung Website
The Shire of Dumbleyung has a new website just for tourists to the Dumbleyung district.
If you stop to view the Bluebird replica there are now Drive maps and brochures available to help you make the most of your visit.
The Dumbleyung Shire CDO, Nicole Taylor, has done a wonderful job to produce a colourful, appealing website to support the Drive maps and brochures.
Check it out here.
